NS DESIGN EU ELECTRIC DOUBLE BASS

Our most sought after model, the EU Series double bass is made in the Czech Republic to the exact specifications of the original US Series instrument. The revolutionary design is molded with concentric laminations of graphite and rock maple that run the entire length of the instrument for maximum sonic integrity. The back of the neck is curved inward to follow the arch of the graphite fingerboard, resulting in a slim, easy to play neck with full access to the upper register

The Polar^TM pickup system, with its ability to respond to lateral and vertical vibration separately or both at once, is uniquely suited to an instrument that is both bowed and plucked. A fabulous bowed response and drum like pizzicato attack are characteristic of the lateral mode, while the sustained pizz. response of the vertical mode creates a new dimension for the upright bass. Magnetic pickups by EMG add a smooth ~Selectric~T option to the sound pallet. With active EQ and full control of pickup selection, the sonic options are virtually unlimited.

Available in 5 and 6 stringed models, the EU Series Double Bass, designed by Ned Steinberger, is in a class of its own, offering the bassist unparalleled performance and tonal quality.

NS DESIGN CR ELECTRIC DOUBLE BASS

The CR Series electric upright bass, with its exceptional versatility and tone quality, is fast becoming an indispensable tool for the serious bassist. The lean, solid-body CR Series bass takes its place in a long history of fine instruments crafted in the Czech Republic.

Available in 4 and 5 stringed models, the CR Series neck & body are made from select maple. The full scale fingerboard is graduated for consistent response from note to note, with adjustable relief and bridge height to suit all playing styles. Our Polar^TM bridge pickup system combines great sound with directional sensitivity, for a rich and expressive response to pizzicato and arco technique. Optional EMG magnetic pickups expand the range to include classic electric bass sounds.

According to Bass Player magazine, the Czech made CR Series "boasts impeccable craftsmanship from a country with a reputation for quality upright bass building. It's clean aesthetics, excellent playability, and great sound put it ahead of the pack."

Three interchangeable support systems are available for the bass: the self supporting tripod stand, more conventional end pin stand, and shoulder strap assembly for full mobility.

True to the NS tradition, the WAV readily captures the essence of an acoustic, yet opens up a wide range of new possibilities.

With electronics are fully based around the NS patented Polar™ Pickup System, the WAV upright bass is available in 4 or 5 string models with several color choices to please the eye as well. The WAV proudly shares the same elegant, modern body design, ergonomics and performance support options of its companions in the NS line.

The WAV’s Polar pickup system includes a convenient toggle switch between Arco and Pizzicato mode. Use the Arco mode for a traditional acoustic response for either bowing and a percussive plucked sound, or switch to the Pizzicato mode for uniquely even and sustained plucked sound, opening up new dimensions to the sound pallet. The piezo-powered passive electronics deliver an amazingly natural tone with unlimited overhead for extraordinary performance without the need or hassle of batteries.
